Be the first Hongkonger to swim across English Channel
Project by Mak Chun Kong
I (MAK Chun Kong) have a dream which belongs to Hongkongers - be the first made-in-Hong-Kong swimmer in the history to swim across English Channel, as a pioneer in Hong Kong extreme swimming. To make this dream come true, I have been receiving three years of ice and ultramarathon swimming training with international standard. My physical condition is ready to swim across English Channel solo. In this challenge, the actual swimming distance will be over 40km. Water temperature is estimated to be 15-18°C. Through this challenge, I want to let the world know the "never give up" spirit from Hong Kong.

Show Must Go On! by Accompanist, professional and amateur dramatics
Project by 仲劇團 Accompanist
Amid the catastrophic epidemic and the cap. 599G, we, a group of professional and amateur dramatics, have made a seemingly ridiculous decision - to organise a performance at this hard time. We are extremely honoured to be able to perform an award-winning play written by Prof Poon Wai Sum, the present Dean of School of Drama of HKAPA. The play, in brief, is exploring the fear and hope different grassroots in HK faced before and after returning to China in 1997. With your monetary support, we can make this dream fulfilled. If it is fortunate that the target can be reached further, we can perfect this performance to another level with our concerted efforts. We need you, both physically present to watch our play, and financially.

"Support our Unsung Heroes" Special Programme
Project by SCHSA 長者安居協會
We are prevailing against the COVID-19 outbreak. While most of us focus on getting by, such as securing essential supplies or planning the next home-cooked meal, the unsung heroes among us never took a day off – so important is their work to society's functioning that they can neither work from home nor avoid human contact. To support these heroes, Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) is launching a donation campaign to support the provision of 2 years' free services under Personal Emergency Link (PEL), Safety Phone or eCare Link® Mobile App to the elderly parents of the unsung heroes in 5 categories.

Save trees and earth with colours
Project by Desmond Pang
The trees on the earth are declining rapidly. Trees will disappear on the earth in about 300 years. If we do not take any action, we may no longer survive on the earth in the future. Many people are aware of the problem, but they do not know how to start to solve the problem. One of the solutions is to increase the number of trees by planting trees. I hope that I can use crowdfunding to raise funds so that I can hold a coloring contest. Please save trees and save earth with colours.

Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation – Providing Education Outside The Classroom
Project by Michaela Mok
Hi I’m Michaela Mok, a fresh graduate from Good Hope School. I was first associated with SKSFF two years ago when I had to propose and carry out an internal activity at school to prove my worth in order to join my school’s student council. I ended up calling it “Pause for Paws” (great title I know), an awareness campaign for local stray dogs. Narelle was nice enough to arrange to bring pups and a few dogs to school and this made the event interactive and really got the message across students. After successfully earning my spot on the student council, I went back a couple times to see my furry friends. My mom, Linda Jackson, now an active volunteer at SKSFF got me involved in a few of their activities, including face-painting, fundraising, shaking buckets etc. Last year, the school suggested I enter a local competition called “Community Leaders of Tomorrow” where funds were given to me and my partner to carry out an activity for a charity of our choice. Without hestitation, we went straight back to Narelle and SKSFF to organise Pause for Paws version 2.0, where we went to shake buckets and raise awareness outside the Rugby Sevens. This event brought both students and teachers together as well as the community and even got the attention of the Education Bureau who later invited us to give a lecture about our experience to professors and students alike at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Though we did not win CLT, we were rewarded with the Most Popular Project Award. Upon finishing my public exams and graduating, I received a call about Pause for Paws creating buzz within the Education Bureau and that they would like my partner and I to appear on a television programme about student-led projects in collaboration with RTHK. Needless to say, SKSFF has opened a series of doors in my life, leading me to different opportunities and for that I am forever grateful. Among all the events, it puts a smile on my face to see our community willingly come together to pitch in to help our furry friends. Each dollar spent on the dogs is put to good use with medical care, food and maintenance, all ensuring a better life for the dogs, as said in SKSFF’s motto. During my few visits to the kennel, I have grown to love each of the 106 dogs there, understanding their back stories and personalities. I hope tonight’s event with help of the fringebacker can provide enough assistance to the shelter to keep making a difference, one canine at a time.
