Prepare to Crowdfund on FringeBacker
Here are some suggestions on how to achieve fundraising success on FringeBacker, and how to prepare for your exciting campaign.
You should have a concrete and well thought out project plan. Have a creative campaign on FringeBacker and think out of the box to generate buzz. The message should be compelling so that backers will be interested to get involved. Most importantly, show your passion and communicate through the various items below.
Submit a proposed write-up on your project that you would like to have hosted on FringeBacker, that talks about: what is it you are trying to do, how you will do it, how the funds will be used, your qualifications to complete this project, people in your team, how far along your project is, etc.
FringeBacker gives you an opportunity to showcase your project with a 2 - 3 minute video that revolves around your project, what your project is about, what you are trying to achieve, and what you need funding for. Make an engaging video, or even better if you can make it viral. Video is generally about storytelling, and engaging people, so make yours a good one!
Set a goal on how much you need to fundraise on FringeBacker. We advise that you set a minimum amount that you need. With FringeBacker's "All or Nothing" principle, the project does not get the funding if your minimum goal is not reached by end of the deadline (up to 60 days), in which case all money will be returned to backers. However, if a project reaches its funding goal before your deadline is reached, your project can continue to accept donations/backing until the funding deadline, and you will be able to get the total amount after the end of your funding period.
Rewards offered on FringeBacker to backers can be items produced by the project itself. You can either pre-sell an item, offer unique experiences, or anything that helps backers relate to your campaign is a great approach. Be as creative as you can, your aim is to engage your backers and get these loyal friends and fans involved.
It is very important that you have a plan on how to build and reach out to your community for support to ensure success for your campaign. Identify your target audience, manage the different groups of people you know, or any contacts that you might want to ask for their support on your FringeBacker campaign. So do plan ahead before your campaign starts, as once its launched, the clock starts ticking!
Get your fundraising campaign out to the public by maximizing media exposure. It’s extremely worthwhile to prepare your media story and strategy well ahead. Contact any media friends that you may know or make friends with them when you see an opportunity. Make the most of the free media exposure and enjoy the limelight!
