Hong Kong Hakka Martial Arts Research Publication
Project by International Guoshu Association
From the early to mid 20th century Hong Kong provided refuge to teeming thousands of immigrants from Mainland China. These people brought diverse skills and knowledge as well as capital to Hong Kong. Among them were some of the most prominent martial artists from China. Continued political instability in China from the late 19th to mid 20th century triggered several migration waves to Hong Kong, which engendered the development of Hong Kong’s unique culture, including Hong Kong martial arts.

Hand In Hand Capable theatre
Project by Nonsensemakers
The Nonsensemakers set up a subsidiary troupe which aim to foster mutual understanding among people with different disabilities (including physically handicap, visual impairment, hearing difficulty and ex-mentally illness) and able-bodied people in 2013. The 2-year project is funded by Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) under Labour and Welfare Bureau, HKSAR government. We believes that through theatre training and performance, the disabled can better integrate into the society and show their talents through this platform. On the other hand, the able-bodied can gain inspirations, positive and indomitable spirit from their disabled peers. The grant from CIIF will be ended in this September, we are asking for YOUR help to keep the troupe sustainable.

The beauty of Kenya Slum
Project by Chan Kam Lun
To break the inter-generational poverty in slum, it is an important to raise the knowledge and skills of slum youths to increase their employment opportunities and to improve the economic situation of the family for achieving the goal of poverty alleviation. We hope provide different learning opportunities in a sustainable community center for slums including basic computer book processing (Microsoft Office) and sewing skills. We also set up a small shop, so that young people can learn small business skills. Besides, a toy library will be set up for the slum kids to enjoy playing with toys safely.
