Ballet is very popular and welcome in Hong Kong, there are many different type of ballet schools in HK now. However, if you want to traces the story of how Ballet culture was developed and how it is changing in HK, you can find no completed information.

 

Ballet Fans is crowd-funding for organizing future activities for anyone who is interested in Ballet as an art for appreciation, as a profession or as an interest.

 

We are planning for the following with a flexible crowd-funding target of minimum HK$50,000:

 

1) Sustain and grow the group of Ballet Fans in the Ballet Fans  Facebook page for 3 months:

advertising cost and operation cost: HK$10,000

2) To develop a simple website to gather and publish information and articles about Ballet culture in HK:

website development, hosting and maintenance fee for 3 months: HK$10,000

3) To develop 2 articles (around 10,000 words each in Chinese/English) about history of Ballet Culture development in HK since the 60s to now:

Interview and copy writing cost: HK$10,000

4) To host a workshop to gather Ballet Fans for appreciation and creating art with pointe shoe:

Pointe Shoe Art Workshop  venue fee, material cost and tutor cost for two sessions: HK$10,000

5) To host a small scale exhibition about Ballet history in HK:

Exhibition venue fee and material cost: HK$10,000

28th Januar 2018 - Pointe Shoe Art Workshop

March 2018 - Launch Ballet Fans website

January - March 2018 - Continuous running of Ballet Fans Facebook page and website

November 2018 - exhibition about Hong Kong Ballet Culture

 

About Ballet Fans -

Ballet Fans Facebook page has established for 3 months only and it has 400 plus fans now. Ballet Fans Facebook page publish ballet related information and share beautiful pictures related to Ballet. Currently Ballet Fans sells beautiful ballet gifts products to support its daily operation.

About the project owner:
Yuki Wan is a ballet fans and  was trained Royal Academy of Dance early years from 8 years through to leaving high school and has particiated in various performance through the years. She has a passion in ballet and is connected with the ballet fans community, from adult or children who are learning ballet to parents or audience who enjoys ballet appreciation.  Yuki is currently a marketing consultant, she is also alumni and PTA members of a local ballet school.
