Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry- Pink Run HK

The only run-for-charity event in Stanley, the annual Pink Run organized by the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry will be held on the 11th November at Stanley Main Street this year!

The whole-day event consists of AM and PM sessions and kick starts with the new Pink Family 1K Run. It then follows by the most popular Pink 5K Run which the route extends from Stanley all the way to Chung Hom Kok and back, passing through Ma Hang Park. A challenging yet scenic route that runners would definitely enjoy!

Pink Heels Race will be the highlight of the afternoon where a series of 100m run will take place on Stanley Main Street, they include 100m Men’s and Women’s Race, Family Fun Race and Quadrathlon Team Race. Runners are encouraged to dress up in Pink to surround Stanley with Pink Power and raise the awareness of hereditary cancers. There are also charity booths set up for the public to have fun while contributing to a good cause!

Revenue from the event will be used to support the Registry for conducting free genetic tests for underprivileged families and the research and education for hereditary breast, ovarian and prostate cancers.

「Pink Family 1K Run」

Time： 10:00 - 10:30

Criteria：Parent-and-kid pair with the child aged 4-11 years old.

Enrollment Fee：HK$100 per team

Basic Donation Amount：HK$160 per team

「Pink 5K Run」

Time： 10:30 – 11:30

Criteria：Aged 16 years old or above. Participants below 18 must submit the Consent Letter signed by parent/guardian.

Enrollment Fee：HK$180 per head

Basic Donation Amount：HK$200 per head

「Pink Heels Race」

Time：12:30–15:30

「Pink Heels Race」- Men’s 100m

Criteria：Aged 18 years old or above. To wear minimum 1.5-inch high heels with pink ornaments for the race.

Criteria：Aged 18 years old or above. To wear minimum 1.5-inch high heels with pink ornaments for the race.

About Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry

Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry was established in 2007. It is the only and first-ever charitable organization dedicated to help the high-risk families who have hereditary risk of breast, ovarian and prostate cancer due to BRCA gene mutations. We also aim to advance and standardize clinical care by formulating preventative measures through data collection, research, public education, counseling and supportive care services in reducing the incidence of hereditary cancers in Chinese population. The Registry now has the largest database and biobank of hereditary breast cancers specimens in Chinese which would facilitate better understanding research of the disease locally and worldwide. THE REGISTRY has raised funds for financing the underserved high-risk families in the community to undergo genetic testing and counseling and has benefited over 3,500 individuals up to now.
