Fans for Summer
Project by Natasha Chiu
I am a 17-year-old student from Hong Kong. Last year, I volunteered at the community service of Society for Community Organization (SoCO) and had the chance to learn about the housing problem in Hong Kong. Seeing subdivided flats and encountering the shocking conditions, where 200,000 people lived in, was an unforgettable experience. Above all, I remembered the heat and humidity of the dwellings, and found out they count on SoCO to donate fans to them every year. I decided this year to contribute by setting up a crowdfunding site to raise money for the fans, and above all raise awareness for their plight.

LITTLE SOMEONE

<LITTLE SOMEONE>` is SOMEONE’s main project in 2013. When I first established SOMEONE in 2010, I wanted to share my philosophy in life. There are many memorable and valuable things in life that you never want to forget. I love my home, Hong Kong, and everything within this city. And I want to express this through my love of drawing. As I will be migrating to the U.S.A. two years later, I would like to take this opportunity to capture memories of my friends and my hometown in my artwork and bring with me to the U.S.
