This crowdfunding campaign is aimed to organize a record-breaking event for all Hong Kong people to witness.
Do you collect stamps, stickpin badges, number tokens or clothespin as a hobby?
Local artist and collector Ng Lung-Wai have gathered thousands of those and turned into fabulous record-breaking portraits of legendary people. He used several tens of thousands European stickpin badges to create the portraits of the Queen, Mao Zedong and Audrey Hepburn, turned several thousands of 1960s Hong Kong generic stamps in to the portrait of John Lennon. Also visualize John F. Kennedy with over 6000 number tokens and Che Guevara with over 2000 clothespin.
Using 1960s European stickpin badges to create the iconic movie stars of the same period is very representative. The choice of similar color tone stickpin badges actually used up the artist’s collection from last decade.

On the other hand, making the legendary leader Mao Zedong portrait with over ten thousand stickpin badges had spent him 5 months’ painstaking time. The work measures 6 feet high and over 3 feet wide, taller than an ordinary person indeed.

The processing of making the John Lennon portrait with over 3,000 1960s Hong Kong generic stamps is even more dramatic.It took him over 8 years of time to gather around 20,000 naturally tinted color stamps from stamp dealers and collectors, and selected adequate stamps among it.

If this crowdfunding campaign is successful, we can exhibit his new works, a big Euro bank note relief with 6 feet long!
Another focus for this exhibition event is the collection of over a 1000 nostalgic Hong Kong matchboxes, first exhibited in Hong Kong.

The organizer, Poon Ho Sing, aimed to achieve a crowdfunding goal amount of HK$ 500,00 in 50 days, in order to bring this record-breaking event to the public with free admission.

In addition to the above budget, we will try to find sponsorship to take care of any extra expenditure, to ensure sufficient resources allowed for the exhibition.

Peronal Profile:
Organizer - Poon Ho Sing, Ben
Poon Ho-sing, Ben is a registered architect in Hong Kong and has received many international design awards and merits. Mr. Poon has been engaging in exhibition and design works for over 15 years. He has worked on projects for many museums and exhibition centres as exhibition designer and contractor, including a recent project, revitalizing Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme – Heritage of Mei Ho House living museum. This project has won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Conservation Award - Honorable Mention.
Artist and Collector – Ng Lung Wai
Ng Lung Wai holds a Master degree in Architectural, he likes to explore extra-ordinary, unusual, bold and innovative things and objects.
He is willing to take years to look for his favorite collectible, at abandoned village and no man’s land. He would visit cemeteries to study font style and patterns on the tombstone for inspiration and reference.
His collection includes a matchbox , labels, packaging , keys , stickpin badges, stamps ...
His works exhibited were covered by media, including newspaper, radio, television and online channels. He was also invited by international galleries for cooperation.
