Only $150,000 is need for us to sustain for one year!

Let's face it! Hong Kong's backward sex education cannot fully prepare students for the new trends in youth life and need. Top-down sex education is the only thing we have right now. Sticky Rice Love innovates the field by introducing a bottom-up approach.

What the HK youth are facing

  • Unlimited sexual content online creating misconceptions about sex

  • Being judged for just being curious about sex

  • Being treated as having no right and no skill to make their own choices

There is a real need for a youth-centered sexual health service. Do you know that sexual health is related to many social issues?

In Hong Kong,

  • Youths think that the current sex education is not enough

  • Youths think that online sex education information is unreliable

  • Nearly half of sexually active youths do not use condoms

  • Youths have the highest growth in new HIV infection cases

  • Expected pregnancy and illegal abortion

What Sticky Rice Love does?

  • Train youth leaders to promote sexual health

  • We talk about sex comprehensively online and through offline events which include: Puberty and growth, reproductive health, romantic relationship, sexuality, gender issue, sexual coercion, and communication skills.

  • Bridge the gap between professionals and youth

  • We are different as we are a youth-driven, evidence-based and a comprehensive sexual health education provider.

We have many enthusiastic volunteers and professional advisors, including doctors, professors, social workers, and sex therapists working with us. We have been receiving very positive feedback and questions daily on our online forum, we have reached thousands through our online journal. Apart from our existing work online, we hope to expand our service and develop various workshops for youth, schools, and parents.

You can make a difference!

We have started getting invited to do workshops in schools. With your help, we will be able to 1) train university peer educators to deliver even more workshops and talks to the community and to schools, ones that will really suit youth need; 2) develop parents' workshops; 3) Improve our online platform; 4) do academic research on local sex education and 5) produce a series of sex education videos.

Sticky Rice Love is a highly cost-effective project! Are you willing to contribute to youth sexual health?

Sticky Rice Love has been a volunteer-based organization since we started (many people think that we have paid staff due to the amount of work that we do). We really need a coordinator to arrange our expanding work and we need a work space for our staff. However, as a youth-driven charity, we experienced huge challenges in fundraising. Your contribution will enable us to continue making a difference in the lives of many youths.

150K + existing funding = 1 year operation

It includes a full-time project coordinator who will conduct sex education workshop and do administration. It also covers the website hosting fee, office, training fee of the peer youth educators, production cost of the videos and journal, and other sex education workshop fee such as transport and venue fee.

If it is lower than 150K, we will first cover towards  the website hosting fee, office, training fee of the peer youth educators, production cost of the videos and journal, and other sex education workshop fee such as transport and venue fee. Then we will hire a part-time administrator.

Sticky Rice Love is a HK registered charity under Chapter 88. All of the funding will go through audits and report to the government annually to make sure that the fund is in good use :)
