JupYeah (meaning ‘taking stuff’ in Cantonese) is a swap initiative that runs Hong Kong’s very first local swap parties to promote the spirit of sharing and a wiser cycle of transferring resources. JupYeah stands for a whole new generation who both contributes to consumerism and conserves our limited natural resources. Since 2011, JupYeah has rapidly expanded from a small group of three, who would exchange clothes and accessories in private ocassions, to a mass of more than 8,000. At a JupYeah pop up swap, visitors (a.k.a. Juppers) simply bring any stuff in good swappable conditions to get any goodies from the pool of cool stuff. All items that remain after the event will be donated for charitable purposes.

Besides stuff exchanges, JupYeah curates varied extra activities, such as indie music performance, talks by inspiring personages and surprise events, suggesting a new definition of a quality, healthy Hong Kong lifestyle. We call it: JupYeah Lifestyle.

JupYeah Tai Tat Tei

Having thrown more than 5 successful events in the past two years, there is one thing we haven’t been able to do – to host a free-admission event using public space that welcomes all citizens. In collaboration with VeryHK, this precious opportunity finally comes.

To inspire the entire city with our spirit of sharing, to revive our very much missed Tai Tat Tei culture, JupYeah is throwing the city’s first free-admission swap event at the Kwuntong Promenade – a green, young and cool version of Tai Tat Tei where people come to share their unwanted stuff, share desirably great moments together. This vision will easily come true as long as we have your support. Your funding is not only crucial to finance this important event, it also gives a vital boost of energy to the culture of sharing – which we believe is the answer to social harmony, waste reduction and living quality.

Activities will include:

Swap, Indie art and cultural activites, DIY workshops, upcycled art and design exhibitions
