Through my 18 years of work as an art director and fashion stylist, I have collaborated with many amazing individuals in expressing the innate love, joy, harmony, glory and amazingness of us as human beings. The re-discovery of myself, the returning to what is love within me, allows an understanding in feeling the depths of my subjects and the beauty that wishes to be expressed. What is the most beautiful, is the honesty and truthfulness of who we are. Being me, allows you to be you. About me, in-truth, is about all of us.

The "Be Love. Be you." film is simply to open the conversation. The participants are choosing to be honest about who they are. In choosing to step forward and to not hide, this film invites, inspires and encourages others to share their amazingness also.

PURPOSE OF CROWDFUNDING

The purpose of crowdfunding is to cover the costs of the filming and consecutively share the “Be Love. Be You.” film in a public screening in the event "Very Hong Kong" at Wan Chai Pier in June. Any profits incurred from the funding will be donated to The Simply Love Foundation, for continued expression in projects committed to true expression with humanity, for humanity.

BACKGROUND OF PROJECT OWNER

Art director and stylist Adele Leung has an uncanny ability to find the beauty in everyday life. For each of her endeavors, she draws upon all her rich experiences and creates from the heart, for the heart. Humanity is an endless source of inspiration for her work. She is devoted to capturing the true essence of her subjects, and creating space for honest expression. When working with an individual, she aims to reflect his or her personal truth; she allows for the moment to naturally unfold, thereby confirming her subject’s sense of self.

For the past 18 years, Adele has worked in fashion and media. After a stint as a buyer for a high-end fashion company in Canada, she returned to Hong Kong and began working at Amoeba Magazine, where she was features and beauty editor. She has served as executive editor for Amy Magazine, fashion editor for Ming Pao Weekly, and fashion consultant for Ming Magazine. She currently has columns in Ming Pao Weekly and Milk X, and she is a highly sought after stylist. In 2012, she published Simply Love, a book of photographs and text.
