Fleeing Myanmar

Due to the new outbreak of violence in the Rakhine State of Myanmar in August 2017, the large scale displacements from Rakhine State of Myanmar to Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh still continues. Till June 2018, the number of displaced people, mainly women and children, in the area has grown from 200,000 to over 915,000.

We hope to raise HK$500,000 in order to provide life-saving assistance to the people affected by the violence. The Hong Kong Red Cross has deployed fifteen person-times (including clinical psychologist, nurses, doctors, midwife and engineer) to provide healthcare, water & sanitation and psychosocial support services at the Red Cross and Red Crescent mobile clinics and emergency hospitals in the Cox’s Bazar makeshift settlements. Please join hands with us to support people in Myanmar and Bangladesh through the rough patch!
