Every $1 donation can save up to 1kg of food waste. If we are able to raise $1 million, we can save up to 1,000 tonnes of food waste. Proceeds will be used to improve food waste processing technology, acquisition of machinery, product quality enhancements, purchasing(?) product-based livestock feed and fertilizer.

根據香港環境保護署2013年的數字，本港每天生産3,648公噸廚餘，為亞洲之冠。縱使政府近年積極推動廚餘回收的公民意識多年，目前98%的廚餘依舊棄置於堆填區，循環再用不足2%。有效實行廚餘回收，政府與私人廚餘營運商必須參與推動，唯由於本港欠缺支持私人廚餘營運商的條件，目前本地只有兩家私人廚餘營運商，而願意參與廚餘回收的商業機構及屋邨數目有限。
香港有機資源再生中心（“HKOWRC”）舉行名爲「一蚊救廚餘 – 網上募捐計劃」，期望透過是次計劃，使更多香港人認識廚餘回收議題、關注業界面對的重重困難、支持業界開發科技以提升廚餘處理效益，以及透過行動推使香港在環保廚餘業的發展上趕及世界其他大城市。是次網上募集計劃目標是籌集港幣$100萬，款項將用以提升目前的廚餘處理技術。HKOWRC承諾市民每捐出港幣$1，該公司將致力救回1公斤廚餘；若成功籌集$100萬，則參與是次計劃的市民將一起救回1,000噸廚餘。
$100萬籌款用途：
- 添購新機器，主要改善流程，更自動化 40萬
- 改善工場環境，吸引新人入行 15萬
- 豬糧試用計劃，預留100噸以廚餘轉製成之豬糧，供本地豬場試用，豬肉供低碳宴食用 10萬
- 預留作研究發展基金 35萬
募捐計劃正好搭建環保平台，讓市民能親身參與作出支持，項目有兩個目標：
- 超越目標籌款額100萬
- 創廚餘籌款項目最多參與人數
有關香港有機資源再生中心(HKOWRC)
香港有機資源再生中心於2011年成立，結合本地學術專家及外國處理有機廢棄物的技術和經驗，針對廚餘問題提供最佳方案。
中心採用國際最新生物科技及大型儀器，為本港各類型有機廢棄物生產者，提供一站式回收及物料再生，配合全面的公民教育及市區推廣項目，為香港譜寫有機廢棄物處理的新一頁。

Naming rights
- Within the educational center has two seminar rooms, a laboratory, three farm, three kitchen waste processing base underwent named, more than 100,000 yuan donation agency / person / company can be named to the above center facilities, the center more than 20,000 visits per year into, including the public, government agencies, environmental organizations, and other groups overseas!
