About 雙雙和媽咪 SS&Den's Fundraiser
I target to raise HK$1,000 for HKBWS Hong Kong Island Flag Day.
Sunshine and I are raising fund for the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society.
SS loves birds of all kinds, she knows more species before she was 3 that the total of what I knew in the past 30 years. When the news break that HKBS is doing a donation campaign, I signed her up, wanting to make this a memory for her young life. She loves and hate Black faced spoon bill, first learn to recognize Red face bulbul on the balcony and toucan from the poster, plays with spotted dove and pigeon at the park, watch Puffin rock on Netflix, recently she study about Vulture.
The tornado of Omicron swept all this up, plan burst but great hurray to HKBS for they reacted fast on setting up this crowd funding link, but mommy was too busy until I finally get this link set up. So fellow friends who loves little SS and I, please support us to support HKBWS by little donation. Each penny counts. By the way just checked, 1 penny = HK$10.30.
Despite the tiny size of Hong Kong, its rich biodiversity provides a wonderful habitat for over 500 species of birds. However, the challenge to nature is increasing with the rapid urban development. HKBWS upholds the principle of 'birds and human living in harmony as nature continues to thrive'. Their conservation work through habitat management, scientific research, policy monitoring and advocacy, and public education has never ceased in the past 65 years. Please donate to support their conservation work for nature and birds!
HKBWS Hong Kong Island Flag Day
Tiny as Hong Kong is, more than 573 bird species have been recorded. This dynamic city is home to the Eurasian Tree Sparrow and many other wild birds, and migratory birds like the Critically Endangered Yellow-breasted Buntings which favour the wetlands here.
Birds have the perseverance to undergo long-distance migrations, yet they are defenseless against human destructions. Established in 1957, the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society is dedicated to promote appreciation and conservation of wild birds through research, habitat management, policy advocacy and education. Our ultimate goal is to protect our bird paradise where people and birds can live in harmony and nature continues to thrive.
The year of 2022 will mark the 65th anniversary of HKBWS. As part of the celebration, we will organize our first Flag Day on 12 March on Hong Kong Island. All donations will be used to support our bird and habitat conservation work. Nature conservation work is competing with time, we need your support now or never.
Date and time: 12 March 2022 a.m.
Location: Hong Kong Island
Public Subscription Permit No.: FD/R031/2021
