The SES is looking to raise funds to support its annual running costs of £35,000 for the next three to five years and help uphold the Society's aims and objectives - to lead, fund and support scientific discovery, research and conservation in remote parts of the world offering knowledge, education and community aid.
Building a community of like-minded individuals who care about the natural world and its wildlife is a key element to the work the Society does today. The SES gives its Members and Friends a platform to share ideas and thoughts, offering regular explorer talks and opportunities to go on expedition. The SES also helps the world's bigger issues by supporting projects such as Emily Penn’s eXXpedition (https://exxpedition.com/) and its quest to rid the world of plastic and Peter Kohler's The Plastic Tide (https://www.theplastictide.com/).
The SES is keen to continue its work and requires financial support in order to do so.
