Diocesan Choral Society Summer Concert - A Kindling Spark
Diocesan Choral Society (DCS) and Music Director Ronnie Cheng are excited to present our annual summer concert – “A Kindling Spark” on July 20, 2019. As winner of the Grand Prix of the Tokyo International Choral Competition in 2018, DCS will be competing with the winning teams of 3 other choral competitions from around the world for the World Choral Championship in July 2019. We will be performing a premiere piece by John August Pamintuan and a premiere of an adapted version of a piece written by local composer Adrian Wong originally for the DBS and DGS senior mixed choir. The night continues with an exciting repertoire including pieces written by renowned composers such as Grau, Stroope and Arnesen.
Diocesan Choral Society (DCS) was founded by graduates of Diocesan Boys’ School and Diocesan Girls’ School to continue down the musical path they forged together in their secondary school days. Under the baton of Ronnie Kay Yen Cheng, former members of the DBS and DGS mixed choirs gather, united by the common goal of producing exceptional choral music.
