We sincerely appeal again for your kind donation this year to my wife’s Memorial Fund under the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society (of which I have been an ExCo member for many years) so that more needy breast cancer patients can be blessed. Ezmond cannot physically join the Marathon charitable run this time as he is now in Brisbane, but his heart is with us for the cause. Time really flies. When Portia died in 2007, they were still in their Primary school, but now Ezrela has been working in Hong Kong for over two years since her graduation in London in 2016, and Ezmond will graduate end of this year in his study of Psychology in Brisbane. 

All donation to the Portia Cheung Breast Cancer Support Programme will be earmarked for direct subsidy to needy breast cancer patients, and every dollar received will be given direct to the patients without any administrative costs. As at 31 January 2019, the Programme has given out more than $2,370,000 to subsidise 435 needy breast cancer patients for purchasing extra nourishment, breast prosthesis, drugs and undergoing PET-CT Scan which currently are not funded by the Government or other sources. Last year (2018), the Programme gave out over $630,000 to needy patients.

Notwithstanding her illness and early departure, Portia did enjoy a blessed life on earth and had the privilege of tremendous support and care from her family and friends in times of difficulties and trials. It is both her wish before her departure and ours that more care and support can be given to those less resourceful breast cancer patients to help them maintain a good quality of life with dignity during the trying period. 

We sincerely hope that with more generous donation this year, we could benefit more needy patients.
