Successfully Funded!
Update on 12 Mar 2015
Dear Backers,
We are delighted to announce that our crowdfunding on FringeBacker has been successfully funded! We have just received a significant backing from 「劉家良導演慈善基金」(Lau Kar Leung Film Boxing Director Charitable Foundation Limited), bringing our funding to a total of HK$266,089 (US$34,273)
The late Lau Kar Leung has been a lifelong contributor to the Hong Kong martial arts and film industry since 1960’s. Also a kung fu master of the Hung Kuen style, Lau sifu’s films played a significant role in bringing real martial arts to the big screen and in popularising Chinese martial arts internationally. His fund’s generous contribution to IGA’s digital archive project shows its commitment to help preserve martial arts for our future generation.
And to each and everyone of you, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks for your support and contribution. There is still much to be done and we will continue to work on building the martial arts living archive.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Mary Jean Reimer (翁靜晶), wife of late Lau Ka Leung (劉家良), contributed to IGA’s project on FringeBacker on behalf of Lau Kar Leung Film Boxing Director Charitable Foundation Limited「劉家良導演慈善基金」.
With best wishes,
International Guoshu Association

IGA Activity Highlights & Project Extension
Update on 9 Jan 2015
Dear Backers,
Thank you for your continued support to International Guoshu Association. We have been extremely busy with many events going on in the past months which we will share with you in this update. Our crowdfunding has continued to help IGA drive awareness to our digital motion capture initiative. And as such, we have managed to secure partial private funding for the project which will enable us to reduce the total amount by a third to HK$240,000, and we have successfully applied for a grant to cover cost for digital retouching and clean-up of the footage captured. The campaign will be extended through to March 2015.
With the success of our “Cold Moon Longquan Sword Exhibition" held earlier in November, IGA will be selecting amongst its archive 3 exquisite Longquan swords by Master Hu Xiaojun. These are one of a kind items that are exclusive to this charity online sale. All profit from the sale will be contributed to the Hong Kong Martial Arts Living Archive campaign. Further updates on the online charity sale will be provided shortly.
For those of you who did not get a chance to attend our events, here are some of the highlights:

EXTENSION OF FUNDING PERIOD
Update on 10 Oct 2014
Dear Backers,
Firstly, thank you for being such great supporters! Since the launch of our campaign, we are very proud to have engaged so many people and raised over HK$120,000.
So much has happened and we have a lot of exciting news to update. Some of you might have read about our campaign in the papers, the media has been very supportive of our project with extensive coverage which helped with creating more public awareness. And just last month, FringeBacker asked us to join them at UNESCO's International Day of Peace Event where we did a live demonstration of the Hakka Kung Fu by 12 of our masters, representing 6 important Hakka lineages / styles! That's not all, some corporates have demonstrated an interest in supporting our archive, we are now in the process of identifying sponsors that shares common goals and values with us to help further sustain our project.
We are delighted with the positive response we have been getting from different sectors. With so much more going on for us, FringeBacker has agreed to grant us an extension so that more people can be part of our campaign!
Keep spreading the word for us, we are confident of eventually reaching the goal in the not-too-distance future.
Thank you all!
With best wishes,
International Guoshu Association
